Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to appoint the petitioners as overseer in any of the existing vacancies as was done in the case of Mr. V. Murugan (Petitioner in W.P. No. 18580/2023) and Mr Prakash (Petitioner in W.P No. 21291/2023) in the light of order dated 24.04.2024 passed in W.P. Nos. 18580 and 21291 of 2023 on the file of this Court, within a stipulated time.

ORDER

Mr.R.U. Dinesh Rajkumar, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioners were appointed as Technical Assistants on various dates during the year 2013 and were relieved from service on 31.08.2016. It is the case of the petitioners that pursuant to the order dated 24.04.2024 passed by this Court in W.P. Nos.18580 and 21291 of 2023, they are also entitled to appointment to the post of Overseer. In this regard, they submitted a joint representation dated 06.05.2025 to the 2nd and 3rd respondents seeking such appointment. However, the said representation has not been considered till date. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed with the aforesaid prayer.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that in the light of the orders passed by this Court dated 24.04.2024 in W.P. Nos.18580 and 21291 of 2023, the petitioners' grievances may be redressed by the respondents by passing appropriate orders, within a time frame.

4. Learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that as against the order dated 24.04.2024 passed in the writ petition viz., W.P. Nos.18580 and 2/4

21291 of 2023, an appeal has been filed. However, he has no objection for issuance of directions by this Court to the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioners' joint representation dated 06.05.2025, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. In view of the limited scope of the prayer now sought by the learned counsel for the petitioners, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioners' joint representation dated 06.05.2025 and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
