Aggrieved by the fact that the appeal filed by the petitioner on 19.01.2022 challenging the award dated 31.08.2021, has not been disposed of to date, the petitioner is before this Court. 2.

Heard Mr.D.Baskar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader for sole respondent. 3.

The petitioner's property comprised in Survey No.59/2A1A measuring 291 Sq.ft. In Lalpuram Village, Chidambaram Taluk, Cuddalore District was acquired for the purpose of NH45A. The award has been passed on 31.08.2021 granting a compensation of Rs.13,27,499/-. Aggrieved by the low compensation that has been granted, the petitioner has preferred the said appeal, which has been kept pending without any enquiry from January 2022.

Considering the fact that the 1st respondent, who is the statutory authority named under the Act to hear the appeal has failed to discharge his duties, the Mandamus is issued to the 1st respondent to dispose of the appeal 2/4

within a period of one month from the date of receipt of the copy of this order.
