ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for direction directing the respondents to complete the verification of the sports certificate to confirm with their veracity and punish those who have been placed in the employment under the TANGEDCO by way of producing fake certificates by implementing the TANGEDCO's Memo No.68638/A.18/A.181/2019-1, dated 04.02.2020.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner was working as an Office Assistant at Senior Manager's Office, Thanjavur Electricity Distribution Zone, Tamil Nadu Generation of Electricity and Distribution Corporation, Thanjavur. According to the petitioner, he had noted that many of the officials were appointed in the Corporation, by way of producing bogus or fake certificates. The respondents without verifying the genuineness of the sports certificates appointed them.

4. In the service matters, Public Interest Litigation cannot be entertained. That apart, the petitioner has absolutely no grievance insofar as the persons who were appointed under the sports quota. That apart, the persons who were

appointed under sports quota were already retired from service.

5. Therefore, the petitioner had filed this writ petition with an omnibus prayer and the same cannot be considered for any relief. Therefore, this writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed.
