(By J.Nisha Banu,J.) This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent to grant 6 days' Emergency Leave without escort to the petitioner / Convict Prisoner, namely, Mr.Dinesh Kumar, S/o.Late Subramanian (PID No.241805) aged about 30 years confining at Central Prison, Vellore.

2. The case of the petitioner, who is a Life Convict, is that his father died long back and the petitioner, being a responsible brother, has to look for a bridegroom for her sister, so as to arrange for her marriage. The mother of the petitioner has serious health ailments. Hence, he submitted a representation dated 23.07.2025 to the respondent for grant of Emergency Leave for a period of 6 days without escort. Since there is no response from them on the same, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor states that a reasonable time may be granted to the respondent to take a decision on the representation of the petitioner.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this 2/4

Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to consider the representation dated 23.07.2025 of the petitioner and take a suitable decision thereon in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
