PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents more particularly the 3rd respondent to shift the E.B Meter Service Nos.151-381211, 151-38-829, 151-38-177 and 151-38-765 situated at Old No.92, New No.183, Strahans Road, Otteri, Chennai - 600 012 on the basis of the representation given by the petitioner on 05.10.2024 and 14.10.2024 and online application dated 23.10.2024 vide Ref.No.20001151024845, 20001151024846, 20001151024847, 20001151024848. This writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents more particularly the 3rd respondent to shift the E.B Meter Service Nos.151-38-1211, 151-38-829, 151-38-177 and 151-38-765 situated at Old No.92, New No.183, Strahans Road, Otteri, Chennai - 600 012 on the basis of the representation given by the petitioner on 05.10.2024 and 14.10.2024 and online application dated 23.10.2024 vide Ref.Nos.20001151024845, 20001151024846, 20001151024847, 20001151024848.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that the electricity board meter in his house is installed in the front portion of the building and he wants to shift the same to the back portion. In this regard, he submitted a representation before the respondents and the same was not considered. The petitioner also submitted an online application on 23.10.2024 in Ref.Nos.20001151024845, 20001151024846, 20001151024847, 20001151024848 and the same has not been considered, hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.

Mr.L.Jaivenkatesh, learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 on instructions submits that online application submitted by the petitioner was rejected on 22.11.2024 on the ground that the petitioner failed to submit recent property tax receipt, proof of ownership and indemnity bond.
4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is ready to produce proof of ownership and the current 3/6
tax receipts which are also in the name of the grand mother of the petitioner. The learned counsel for the petitioner is also ready to produce necessary legal heirship certificate and death certificate to establish his heirship to the original owner of the property. The said statement made by the learned counsel for the petitioner is recorded.

In view of the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the respondents that online application was already rejected, the petitioner is directed to file fresh online application seeking shifting of the electric meter and along with online application, the petitioner shall upload necessary legal heirship certificate, death certificate, proof of ownership, current tax receipts and indemnity bond. The online application shall be filed by the petitioner within a period of two weeks with supporting documents. The said application shall be considered by the 3rd respondent in accordance with law and the final order shall be passed within a further period of three weeks therefrom.
