ORDER

The writ petitioner seeks a mandamus to the respondents to disburse the compensation amount of Rs.24,43,426/- along with the interest from 11.02.1994 for the lands acquired.

2. It is the contention of the petitioner that she is the absolute owner of an extent of 1400sq.ft in Survey No.228/4, Meetukuppam, Vanagaram Village. This land had been acquired for the purpose of expanding the highways. Although the lands were acquired in the year 1994, the respondents have not issued any notice nor have they given a copy of the Award passed to date to the petitioner. The petitioner's house was demolished and the petitioner and her family were thrown into the streets on 13.05.1999 without giving compensation. The 2/5

petitioner has been constantly approaching and corresponding with the respondents to disburse the compensation to him. The written representations had started as early as on 12.01.2015 and finally a detailed representation had been sent on 15.11.2024. Aggrieved by the fact that the same has not been considered to date, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Heard the learned counsels on either side.

4. Taking into consideration the facts set out in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition as well as the submission of both counsels, a mandamus is issued to the respondents to disburse the compensation amount of Rs.24,43,426/- together with interest from 11.02.1994 to the petitioner subject to the furnishing of the necessary documents to prove her right to the above amount. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
