ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu.W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025.

This Case in Cr.No. 186 of 2004 is registered for alleged offences under Sections 147, 452, 427, 436 and 506(ii) of I.P.C. & 3(1)(d) of Pondicherry Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act, 2000 r/w. 149 of I.P.C. The allegation in this case is that during Tsunami time in the Page No.1 of 3

Pondicherry border, a liquor shop was said to have been kept open enraged by the same the accused said to have attacked and caused loss. In respect of the split up case against the accused ended in acquittal in S.C.No.60 of 2010. In this case, warrant is pending against some of the accused, as such no useful purpose will be served in keeping the matter pending even if the warrant is executed, the accused are brought to books.

Accordingly, the proceedings in PRC.No.10 of 2022 of Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Karaikal Taluk, Karaikal, is quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case is disposed of.

25.09.2025 mtl electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
