O R D E R

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 19.08.2025, for the offences punishable under Sections 126(2), 127(2), 296(B), 310(2), 311 and 351(3) of BNS Act, in Crime No.257 of 2025, on the file of the respondent Police, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that, on 18.08.2025 at about 09.30 p.m., when the de facto complainant was walking near Kitchipalayam Fathima Nagar EB Office, the petitioner along with other accused waylaid him. When the de facto complainant questioned them, they abused him in filthy language, and at knife point, snatched Rs.5,000/- from him and threatened him with dire consequences. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and has been falsely implicated in this case. The petitioner is ready and willing to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court hence, he prays to grant bail to the petitioner. 2/4

4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and opposed the grant of bail to the petitioner on the ground that the petitioner is involved in 7 previous cases, out of which 3 cases were ended in acquittal, and 3 cases are still pending.

5. Heard the learned counsels on either side and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the gravity of the offences and bad antecedents, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands dismissed. 26.09.2025 cda 3/4
