This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner representation dated 06.08.2024 and thereby, execute the lease deed in favour of the petitioner in accordance the Wakf Properties Lease Rules - 2014.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that the wakf estate viz., Khan Bahdur A.Abdul Kareem Sahib's waqf estate, recorded under Waqf ID TN 02 0154 situated at Venkatnarayana Street, T.Nagar, Chennai is a registered wakf under the supervisory control of the Tamil Nadu Wakf Board. The said wakf owning the property measuring an extent of 12,400 sq. ft. The petitioner had given a representation to the respondent dated 06.08.2024 to execute a lease deed for constructing the commercial complex and the same was not considered. Hence, the present writ petition.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representation within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.
4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the representation will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited request sought for by the petitioner, this court directs the respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 06.08.2024 within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
