O R D E R

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 10.08.2025, for the offences punishable under Sections 270, 296(b) and 132 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act, 2023, read with Section 3(1) of the Tamil Nadu Public Property (Prevention of Damage and Loss) Act 1992, in Crime No.220 of 2025, on the file of the respondent Police, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that a quarrel arose between the residents of two streets and, when the police intervened to compromise the matter, the petitioner abused the respondent police in filthy language, broke the glass of the police jeep, and thereby caused damage to the tune of Rs.3,500/-. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and has been falsely implicated in this case. The petitioner is ready and willing to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court hence, he prays to grant bail to the petitioner. 2/4

4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and opposed the grant of bail to the petitioner on the ground that the petitioner is involved in 12 previous cases, out of which 3 cases have been disposed of and 9 cases are still pending.

5. Heard the learned counsels on either side and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the gravity of the offences and bad antecedents, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands dismissed. 26.09.2025 cda 3/4
