Prayer:- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to cancel the Patta No.21, issued in favour of J. Ramadass in so far as the agricultural land situated at Arasanipalai Village, Vembakkam Taluk, Tiruvannamalai District, comprised in Survey No.256/5, 256/10, and 256/11 within the sub registration district at Thoosi. The petitioner submitted a representation seeking cancellation of Patta No.21 in respect of the property comprised in Survey Nos.256/5, 256/10, and 256/11, situated at Arasanipalai Village, Vembakkam Taluk,

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. A perusal of the representation submitted by the petitioner revealed that the petitioner sought cancellation of a fraudulent document and, subsequently, the cancellation of the patta in respect of the subject property.

4. In view of the fact that the provisions under Section 77A of the Registration Act have been struck down by the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court, the authority concerned has no jurisdiction to cancel the document.

5. In view of the above, the prayer sought by the petitioners cannot be considered. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs.
