The petitioner in Crime No.107 of 2022 registered by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 6(4) of TNSC (RDCS) 1982, Section 7(1)(a)(ii) of EC Act, 1955 with respect to an occurrence which took place on 28.05.2022 seeks anticipatory bail.
2. It is stated that the petitioner/A5 and A1 were found in possession of 10,900 kgs of PDS rice. A1 had been arrested and detained under Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.
3. Taking into consideration, the huge quantity of PDS rice seized I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition seeking anticipatory bail stands dismissed.
