This Petition is listed today under the caption "for being mentioned" at the instance of the learned counsel for the petitioner.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that in the order dated 18.11.2025 in Crl.R.C.No.1860 of 2025 and CRL MP No. 18228 of 2025, the following text shall be added in paragraph 6: "within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
3. In view of the above submission, this Court directs the Registry to substitute the paragraph 6 with the following text: "6. Considering the facts of the case, this Court directs the petitioner to contest the matter on merits in the main case. It is seen from records that there was arrears of maintenance. Hence, the petitioner is directed to deposit a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- (Rupees two lakhs only) towards arrears of maintenance in M.C.No.516/2023 on the file of the Learned 1\9
VI Additional Family Court at Chennai within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is also made clear that the petitioner should pay a sum of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees twenty thousand only) as monthly maintenance to the respondents till the disposal of the main case. The said amount should be paid on or before first week of every english calendar month. The learned Judge is directed to take up the matter after payment of arrears amount of Rs.2,00,000/-. "
4. In all other respects, the order dated 18.11.2025, shall remain unaltered. The Registry is directed to carryout the above correction and issue a fresh order copy to the parties forthwith.

ORDER
This petition is filed to call for the records relating to the 09.07.2025 made in M.P.No.292/2025 in M.C.No.516/2023 on the file of the Learned VI Additional Family Court at Chennai and set aside the same by allowing this Criminal Revision Petition.
2. The facts of the case is that the petitioner married the first respondent on 27.06.2009 as per Hindu rites and customs. Out of the said wedlock two children was born to them who are second and third respondents. Thereafter, there was some misunderstanding between them due to which the couples started to live separately. It is pertinent to note that the petitioner is working at Singapore. The first respondent wife filed M.C.No.516/2023 on the file of the Learned VI Additional Family Court at Chennai and the same was allowed on 01.02.2024 with a direction to pay a sum of Rs.25,000/- as maintenance to the respondents. Challenging the same the petitioner filed M.P.No.292/2025 in M.C.No.516/2023 on the file of the Learned VI Additional Family Court at Chennai and the same was dismissed, which has given rise to this petition.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner that the first respondent deliberately has given a local address before the Court to send summons
knowing very well that the petitioner was working in abroad. Due to which he was not able to appear before the Court below and an ex-parte order was passed in M.P.No.292/2025. He further submitted that already he had deposited a sum of Rs.1,12,500/- before the Trial Court. Hence, prays to allow this petition.
4. The learned counsel for the respondent submits that there was default in payment of arrears of maintenance and also the maintenance amount. He further submitted that the petitioner is not taking care of the children and also failed to appear before the Court below. Hence prays to enhance the maintenance amount.
5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.
6. Considering the facts of the case this Court directs the petitioner to contest the matter on merits in the main case. It is seen from records that there was arrears of maintenance. Hence, the petitioner is directed to deposit a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- towards arrears of maintenance in M.C.No.516/2023 on the file of the Learned VI Additional Family Court at Chennai.
