ORDER

(Order of the Court was delivered by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.) The petitioner prays for a Mandamus directing the respondents to issue the Community Certificate to her daughters to the effect that they belong to Schedule Caste at Puducherry based on her (mother's) origin.

2. In view of the judgment of the Division Bench of this Court in Siva Johnson Kennedy.I v. Union of India, dated 21.12.2023, there will be a direction to the respondents to consider the application of the petitioner's daughters based on her (mother's) origin and issue the certificates if they satisfy the criteria prescribed. The needful be done within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

3. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
