ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, chennai to speedily dispose of F.A. No 221/2025 within a time frame fixed by this honble Court.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he has filed a complaint before the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission Chennai North. Subsequently, the same was transferred to Thiruvallur District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. The said Commission has passed an order after a prolonged period of partial contest and repeated non-appearance of the opposite parties, setting them ex-parte and directed the opposite party to refund a sum of Rs.9,08,673.60, Compensation of Rs.25,000/- and litigation cost of Rs.5,000/- with 6% interest on failure to comply. Challenging the same, an appeal was filed by the opposite party before the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and the appeal was allowed directing a fresh hearing by the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission Thiruvallur and disposing of within three months.

The opposite parties even after the order of remand by the appellate authority did not contest the case. Therefore, the District Commission restored and re-affirmed its earlier order. Aggrieved by the compensation, the petitioner filed an appeal before the State consumer Disputes Redressal Commission seeking enhancement of compensation registered as FA.No.221 of 2025.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representation within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Counsel and perused the materials available on record.

5. Considering the fact that the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission is an autonomous, Statutory and Constitutional institution formed as a quasi judicial body to protect the rights of the consumers. If the petitioner has any grievance in respect of pending cases, he has to approach the concerned forum for speedy disposal. Instead of approaching the Commission, the petitioner has approached this Court, is not sustainable. Hence, this court directs the petitioner to make a fresh representation to the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.

6. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs 07-10-2025 Rli
