ORDER
This Court passed an order directing enquiry on complaint filed by the petitioner on 02.08.2924. This Order passed on 15.04.2025. Alleging the order was not complied, the petitioner has come forward with this contempt.
2. When the matter was taken up today, Mr.Shajahan, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent points out that the Regional Transport Officer [Salem West] does not have the jurisdiction to deal with permit issued to the State Transport Corporation for unauthorized operation between Namakkal and Karur and as it has to be addressed only by the Regional Transport Officer, Namkkal or Regional Transport Officer Karur.
3. In so far the second prayer that the permit to the stage carriage vehicle bearing No.TN 30 N 1904 should be cancelled, the Special Government Pleader has been instructed to state that the permit had already cancelled by Regional Transport Authority in Chennai and not authorities in Salem. Instructions further state that the Regional Transport Officer had initiated action on the violation of the terms and conditions by TNSTC. The said instructions are scanned and extracted herein :
4. As the Order of this Court has been complied, I find that there is no necessity to initiate contempt against the respondents and this Contempt Petition is closed. The petitioner is at liberty to approach the authorities to initiate action against the officers concerned.
