ORDER
Mr.Yogesh Kannadsan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioner was initially appointed as a Woman Police Constable in the Tamil Nadu Special Police, 1st Battalion, Trichy, on 01.02.2011. Due to certain medical ailments, the petitioner was on medical leave and was unable to rejoin duty on the expiry of the sanctioned leave period. Consequently, for nonreporting to duty, she was treated as a deserter, and disciplinary proceedings were initiated against her. Upon conclusion of the enquiry and on the charges being held proved, the petitioner was dismissed from service. The appeal preferred by her was also rejected. Subsequently, based on the petitioner's mercy petition, the 1st respondent, vide order dated 22.05.2021, modified the punishment earlier imposed and permitted the petitioner to rejoin duty.

It is the grievance of the petitioner that she had not committed any act of desertion, and hence, she submitted a representation/appeal before the 1st respondent on 17.04.2023 seeking kind consideration. However, no orders have been passed on the said appeal till date. Aggrieved by such inaction, the present writ petition has been filed with the aforesaid prayer. 2/4
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if a direction is issued by this Court to consider the petitioner's representation (appeal) dated 17.04.2023 and pass orders in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5. Acceding to the aforesaid submission, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation(appeal), dated 17.04.2023 will be considered and final orders will be passed by the 1st respondent, within a stipulated time to be fixed by this Court.
6. In view of the fair submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation (appeal) dated 17.04.2023 on its own merits and pass orders in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
