ORDER

This writ petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction against the 2nd respondent to take into consideration the representation dated 29.01.2024 given by the petitioner herein, a senior citizen with respect to a settlement deed executed in favour of his daughter, the 3rd respondent. The petitioner seeks cancellation of the settlement deed since, the 3rd respondent had not reciprocated the love and affection shown by the petitioner while executing the settlement deed. The petitioner had given a representation in this regard to the 2nd respondent nearly about a year back on 29.01.2024.

2.It is the grievance raised by the learned counsel for the petitioner that in spite of passage of time, the 2nd respondent had not initiated any steps in accordance with the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Senior Citizen and Parents Act, 2007.

3.A direction is issued to the 2nd respondent to take into consideration the representation dated 29.01.2024 and follow the principles as enunciated including issuing notice to the 3rd and 4th respondents herein / daughter and

son of the petitioner and proceed to enquire into the representation and pass appropriate orders on or before 31.03.2025.

4.With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
