Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 4 th respondent herein to fix the petitioner salary as per the pay scale prescribed for an Associate Professor in Orthopedics Department namely Pay Matrix Level 26 (Grade Pay Rs.7600 /-) with all consequential fixations and increments, effective from 14.01.2023, the date of petitioner promotion as Associate Professor by the 4 th respondent College.

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to fix the petitioner's salary as per the pay scale prescribed for an Associate Professor in Orthopedics Department, namely Pay Matrix Level 26 (Grade Pay Rs.7600 /-), with all consequential fixations and increments, effective from 14.01.2023, the date of petitioner's promotion as Associate Professor by the fourth respondent College. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 1, 2 & 4. Perused the materials available on record.
3.Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the writ petition, the fourth respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/5
4.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
