PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner representation dated 06.11.2024 and provide electricity connection to install electric motor for the bore well in Survey No.128/10B2B1 within a stipulated period fixed by this Court. By consent of both the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as respondents, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to consider his representation dated 06.11.2024 seeking electricity service connection in respect of bore well in Survey No.128/10B2B1, within the time stipulated by this Court.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that his father owned 26.31 acres of lands in Survey Nos.12/6A, 128/10B2, 23/7A, 23/6C situated at Kottamarudhur Village, Villupuram District. He applied for agriculture electricity service connection in the year 2005. Subsequently, he died on 03.09.2014, leaving behind the legal heirs including the petitioner. It is the further claim of the petitioner that he purchased the shares of other legal heirs and as on today, he is the exclusive owner of the lands. Therefore, he submitted a representation before the respondents on 06.11.2024 seeking electricity service connection in his name based on the application submitted by his father. The said representation has not been considered by the respondents till date. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.

Mr.V.Venkataseshaiya, learned Standing Counsel (TNEB), who is taking notice for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that at the time of field inspection, the Officers of the Respondents found existence of electricity service connection in the very same well. Therefore, there is difficulty in considering the representation of the petitioner. 3/6

Be that as it may, the petitioner only seeks a direction to respondents to consider his representation, therefore, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the 4th respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 06.11.2024 and pass final orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, after issuing necessary notice to the petitioner.
6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
