On 13.10.2023, this Court directed the respondent to complete the investigation in Crime No.2154 of 2020 and file a final report within a period of four months. However, the said direction has not been complied by the respondent. Hence, the present contempt petition has been filed.

2. On receipt of notice, the respondent filed an affidavit stating that the investigation in Crime No.2154 of 2020 has been completed and final report was filed on 08.05.2024. The same has been taken on file by the Judicial Magistrate, Vananur in C.C.No.34 of 2025 on 08.08.2024. Though there was a delay in complying with the order, since the direction has been substantially complied, there is no necessity to proceed against the respondent.
