ORDER

This writ petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking seeking a direction against the respondents viz., Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board and more particularly the Area Engineer, Zone - 14, Kottivakkam, to stop the overflowing of sewage of water in Rajeshwari Nagar Main Road, Ullagaram, Chennai - 600 091 and also to provide potable water to the residents of Rajeswari Nagar. 2.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner stated that it is a recurrence problem of the residents, since if there is heavy rain fall, the sewage water overflowed and comes into the road and the residents are not able to walk across. It has been stated that the rain fall had occurred, at that time the writ petition was filed and a similar request had been made to the Sewerage Board.

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents stated that the respondents had taken immediate action and in fact, he produced copies of the photographs of that fact. The problem of the petitioner had been addressed. The learned counsel for the respondents had instructed the officials to do necessary needful, even without awaiting specific directions of this Court. It is also informed that the sewerage water drainage is being constructed and I am confident that when it is completed, the petitioner and any body living in Rajeshwari Nagar, Ullagaram, would not face any similar problem again.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
