ORDER
This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking to direct the 2nd respondent to forthwith furnish a certified copy of the entire Land acquisition Award in Award No.4 of 2002 dated 4.10.2002 acquired for Chennai outer Ring Road Scheme with regard to lands in Survey No. 307/22 (New Survey No 307/ 22A1A - Survey No. 307/22B as per Patta No.928 of Mannivakkam Village, Chengalpattu Taluk ) passed by the 2nd respondent in pursuant to the representations dated 7.1.2021 , 10.3.2025 and 01.04.2025. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 3.The grievance of the petitioner before this Court is that the petitioner was not aware of the award dated 04.10.2002 passed by the 2nd respondent, by acquiring the land belongs to the petitioner's father for the purpose of Chennai Outer Ring Road Scheme and the copy of the award was also not served on the petitioner's father. The petitioner's father died in the year 2023, leaving behind
the petitioner and his mother as legal heirs. In order to challenge the quantum of compensation awarded by the 2nd respondent, the petitioner needs the certified copy of the award dated 04.10.2002. Therefore, the petitioner has given representations dated 07.01.2021, 10.03.2025 and 01.04.2025 to the 2nd respondent, requesting to furnish a certified copy of the entire Land Acquisition Award in Award No.4 of 2022 dated 04.10.2022. However, the 2nd respondent has not considered the representations so far. 4.This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, as it is for the 2nd respondent to consider and decide the same on merits and in accordance with law.
Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of, only by directing the 2nd respondent to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 07.01.2021, 10.03.2025 and 01.04.2025 on merits and in accordance with law and provide the certified copy of the award dated 04.10.2002. It is made clear that, if the petitioner intend to challenge the quantum of compensation awarded by the 2nd respondent, the limitation aspect will be decided by the appropriate authority. No costs.
