ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for directing the respondents to provide the relief to the family members of the deceased, Vignesh, under Section 15A of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and other relevant Rules.
2. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.
3. On a perusal of the counter-affidavit filed by the first respondent and the submission made by the learned counsel for the respondents, it reveals that already suitable instructions have been issued to the Tahsildar and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Social Justice and Human Rights, Chennai, separately, to submit a detailed report on the request of the petitioner for payment of relief amount to the family members of the deceased, Vignesh, as per the Dr. Ambedkar National Relief to the SC/ST victims of Atrocities Scheme.
4. In view of the above, the first respondent is directed to provide the compensation, as contemplated under Section 15A of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and other relevant Rules, to the family members of the deceased within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No
costs.
