PRAYER This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking direction, based on the petitioner's representation dated 13.08.2025, directing the 2nd and 3rd respondents to calculate and disburse the petitioner's gratuity amount payable under law.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.08.2025 and calculate and disburse the petitioner's gratuity amount payable under law.

2. The petitioner joined the second respondent College on 05.09.2011 and he resigned from service on 31.12.2024, after rendering 13 years, 03 months and 27 days of service. Since the petitioner completed the prescribed minimum service period, he was entitled for gratuity as per the provisions of the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972. However, the respondent did not settle the petitioner's gratuity amount, hence, he submitted a representation to the respondent on 13.08.2025. Since no action was taken on the petitioner's said representation by the respondents, the present Writ Petition has been filed with the above said prayer.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though the petitioner sought for a larger relief, it would suffice if a direction is issued to the respondents 2 and 3 to consider and pass orders on the representation submitted by the petitioner within a time frame fixed by this Court.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the limited prayer now sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner, direction is issued to the respondents 2 and 3 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 13.08.2025 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of this order.
