Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to remove the encroachments comprised in S.Nos.653/4, 652, 654, 655, 656, situated at Mallikundam Village, Mettur Taluk, Salem District, subsequently direct the respondents to restore the original extent of public street within a time fixed by this Court. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Though the representation regarding encroachment on the public street has been made on 26.07.2022, since no steps have been taken till now, this petition has been filed.

2. Taking into consideration that the representation has been made on 26.07.2022, we are not inclined to keep this petition pending, but dispose it of with a direction to the respondents to conduct a

survey, if not already done and if any encroachment is found as alleged in the petition, to take appropriate action for removal of encroachment. The proceedings shall be concluded as far as possible within a period of four months from today.

There shall be no order as to costs.
