ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by J.NISHA BANU, J.) The writ petitioner filed the present writ appeal, challenging the order passed by the learned Single Judge in W.P.No.No.31129 of 2019, dated 24.04.2024.

2. The appellant/writ petitioner had filed the above said writ petition seeking direction to the 2nd respondent not to sell the lands situated within Purucherry RD, Mudaliarpet Commune, Murugapakkam Veli, wet land bearing Cadaster No.801, 801 Bis 1/2 re-survey No.185/3 pt. patta No.989, to an extent of 16 acres and patta No.1192 to the extent of 4 Hectares 47 acres 60 centiares i.e. in total 8 1/2 Kuzhies, which is the temple property belonging to Sri Sengazhuneeramman Devasthanam and also to direct the first respondent to provide appropriate assistance to the petitioner to carry on the agricultural activities as a cultivating tenant. Upon hearing the learned counsel for the appellant/writ petitioner and the Government Advocate (Puducherry) and also after perusing the materials on record, the learned Single Judge dismissed the said writ petition and the same is impugned herein.

3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader (Puducherry) appearing for the first respondent submitted that, after dismissal of the writ petition, action was initiated to take possession

of the lands belonging to the Sri Sengazhuneeramman Devasthanam, vide circular dated 19.11.2024 issued by the Commissioner, Department of Hindu Religious Institutions and Wakf. He also submitted that after issuing notice to the appellant/writ petitioner, the temple authorities have taken possession of the subject matter of the property and hence, nothing survives for further adjudication in the writ appeal. He also produced the circular dated 19.11.2024, issued by the Commissioner, Department of Hindu Religious Institutions and Wakf before this court.

4. Recording the submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, this writ appeal is closed. There shall be no order as to costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
