Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Govt. Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that, as on date, the petitioner is not arrayed as an accused and he is needed for the purpose of enquiry. He also submits that the petitioner may be directed to co-operate for the investigation.

Taking into consideration the fact that the petitioner is not arrayed as an accused till date and he is only required for the purpose of enquiry, the petitioner is directed to appear before the respondent police, as and when required for interrogation.

During the enquiry, the respondent police shall not take any coercive steps against the petitioner.
