ORDER

Apprehending arrest in connection with Crime No.299 of 2024 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 24(1) of COTPA Act r/w Section 77 of JJ Act, the present petition has been filed seeking anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found to be 1/4

in illegal possession of 102 packets of banned tobacco products. Hence, the case.

3. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, there is no representation of the petitioner.

4. The case of the prosecution as putforth by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent Police, opposing for grant of anticipatory bail, is that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 102 packets of banned tobacco products. He further submitted that this is the second anticipatory bail application filed by the petitioner, as the earlier bail petition in Crl.O.P.No.28488 of 2024 was dismissed by this Court on 22.11.2024. He also submitted that there are four previous cases pending as against the petitioner.

5. Considering the gravity of offence committed by the petitioner, and that the bad antecedents of the petitioner and the fact that there has been no change in circumstances, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
