ORDER

This petition has been filed to direct the respondent to comply the direction of this Court in Crl.O.P.No.15489 of 2019 dated 18.06.2019 within the time limit fixed and to file the compliance report. 1/4

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had lodged a complaint before the respondent police against one Munivel and his family members stating that they had threatened the petitioner of dire consequences, further obstructed the Revenue Authorities in respect of his land measurement; that a case was registered in Crime No.136 of 2019, however, the respondent had not taken any steps to arrest or to file final report. Therefore, the petitioner had approached this Court in Crl.O.P.No.15489 of 2019 seeking direction against the accused persons and this Court, vide order dated 18.06.2019 had directed the respondent to file final report or closure report before the concerned Magistrate Court within a period of three months and even after several representation by the petitioner, the respondent had not taken any steps to file final report, hence sought for direction, to direct the respondent to comply with the direction of this Court, vide order dated 18.06.2019 in Crl.O.P.No.15489 of 2019.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that the respondent police had completed the investigation and charge sheet filed against four persons namely Munive/A1, Savarakodi/A2, Ravi/A3 and Violet Rose/A4, who were arrayed as accused in C.C.No.108 of 2025 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate - I, 2/4

Gumidipoondi on 04.04.2025. He further submitted that there are totally seven witnesses in this case and the trial will be conducted without any delay.

Considering the submissions of both sides, the fact that the case is of the year 2019 and the persuasion and follow up by the petitioner in bringing the case to this level after six years, this Court directs the Trial Court to expedite and conclude the trial at the earliest. If the accused persons are evading the trial, the respondent shall take coercive steps against the accused, in accordance with law.
