O R D E R
The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 09.09.2025, for the offence punishable under Sections 6(a) r/w 24(1) of Cigarette and other Tobacco Products Act r/w 274, 275, 123 of BNS @ Section 77 of JJ Act in Crime No.558 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent, seeks bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioners is that the petitioners along with other accused indulged in the illegal sale of banned tobacco products to the youngsters and the school going children. The accused were arrested and totally 342 kg of banned products were seized. Hence the case.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are innocent persons and they have been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays to grant bail to the petitioners.
4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioners are having each one previous case of similar in nature. He further submitted that investigation in this case is still pending. Hence, he opposed for grant of bail to the petitioners.
5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.
6. Considering the gravity of the offence committed by the petitioners, the bad antecedents of the petitioners and the fact that investigation is pending, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the 2/4
petitioners.
7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 07.10.2025 kmm To 1.The Inspector of Police, K-8, Arumbakkam Police Station, Chennai.
