Ms.Sinduja, learned counsel for TANGEDCO takes notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 4 and Mr.N.Paul Sundar Singh, learned Standing counsel for CMWSSB takes notice for the fifth respondent. 2/8
With the consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
2.This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 4 to restore the electricity power cable running from the distribution pillar to petitioner's residence which was damaged by the fifth respondent while carrying out service works at Bangaru Street, Aynavaram, Chennai-600 023, based on the petitioner's representation dated 15.09.2025.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the power cable which is running from the distribution pillar to petitioner's residence was damaged by the 5th respondent, while carrying out the repair works. In this regard, the petitioner made a representation to the respondents 1 to 4 on 15.09.2025, seeking to restore the aforesaid electricity cable. As the same did not evoke any response, the petitioner had filed this writ petition seeking for the aforesaid relief. 3/8
4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 would submit that the respondent concerned will consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 15.09.2025 on merits and in accordance with law, within the stipulated period fixed by this Court.
5. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing on either side and also in view of the fact that the petitioner is suffering without basic amenities, this Court is inclined to direct the 4th respondent to pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 15.09.2025, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and persons concerned, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
