By consent of both the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as respondents, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 18.11.2024 seeking restoration of service connection bearing connection No.09-579-007-556.

It is the case of the petitioner that he purchased the land in Survey No.94/2, Kanathur, Reddykuppam Village, Chengalpattu Taluk and he has constructed commercial shop in the said land with electricity service connection No. 09-579-007-556 and he leased out the said shop. It is stated by the petitioner that during the period from October 2023 to April 2024, there was some snag in the electric meter. Therefore, the consumption charges could not be calculated. However, the petitioner paid the electricity 2/5
consumption charge as per the demand made by the respondents. Suddenly, the respondents raised a demand of Rs.3,18,111/- towards penalty charges and compounding charges. Since the petitioner is not in a position to pay the entire amount, he submitted a representation seeking permission to pay the amount in three instalments. The said representation has not been considered, therefore the petitioner has come before this Court.
4. Mr.L.Jaivenkatesh, learned Standing Counsel, takes notice for the respondents and would submit that the representation submitted by the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.

In view of the limited prayer made by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to direct the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 18.11.2024 and pass final orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
