PETITION under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider and dispose the representation of the petitioner dated 27.8.2024 seeking for transfer of patta and change the name in ARegister, Adangal and Chitta in favour of the petitioner for the property at Survey Nos.355/1, 355/3, 355/4 and 355/2 situate at Naduvalur Village , Gangavalli Taluk, Salem District within a time frame.

ORDER
Seeking a direction to the respondents to consider his representation dated 27.8.2024 for the transfer of patta and for changing the name in the A-Register, Adangal and Chitta in favour of the petitioner in respect of the property in Survey Nos.355/1, 355/3, 355/4 and 355/2 situate at Naduvalur Village, Gangavalli Taluk, Salem District, the petitioner is before this Court.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader accepting notice for the respondents.

The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner acquired the subject property by way of a gift settlement deed dated 12.4.2023 registered as doc.No.2661 of 2023 on the file of the Sub-Registrar, Gangavalli executed by his grandmother in his favour. By virtue of the same, he has become the absolute owner of the subject property and has been in possession and enjoyment of the same. Based on the said settlement deed dated 12.4.2023, the petitioner made several online applications to the second respondent seeking transfer of patta. He also sent a representation dated 27.8.2024 to the respondents seeking 2/4
patta transfer and to change the revenue records in respect of the subject property in his favour. As it did not evoke any response, the petitioner has come forward with this writ petition.

Considering the limited nature of the prayer sought, the writ petition is allowed and a Mandamus is issued to the second respondent to consider the said representation of the petitioner dated 27.8.2024 on merits, change the name in the A-Register, computer chitta and adangal in respect of the subject property and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
