O R D E R
The petitioners were apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Sections 4(1)(C), 4(1)(A) of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 2024, in Crime No.170 of 2025, on the file of the respondent Police, seeks anticipatory bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioners were found in possession of 6 nos. liquor bottles of 90 ml Jeffrey Brandy transported from Pondicherry and recovered Rs.200/-. Hence, the case.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are innocent persons and have been falsely implicated in this case. The petitioners are ready and willing to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.
4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and opposed the grant of bail to the petitioners, submitting that the petitioners has 7 previous cases. 2/4
5. Heard the learned counsels on either side and perused the materials available on record.
6. Considering the gravity of the offences and bad antecedents, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.
