This writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a mandamus, to direct the respondent to pay the difference in leave salary based on wage settlement dated 04.01.2018 with 10% interest to the
petitioner.
2. Ms.S.Pavithra, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the Respondent.
3. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
4.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner who was working as a Checking Inspector, retired from service on 30.06.2017. It is the grievance of the petitioner that his representation made before the respondent dated 03.09.2025 seeking to pay the difference in leave salary based on wage settlement dated 04.01.2018 with 10% interest has not been considered till date. Hence the present writ petition is filed.
5. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent would fairly admit that in view of the similar orders passed by this Court in W.P.Nos. 40031, 33742 and 35806 of 2024, they are willing to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of the eligible and admissible amount.

In view of the above submission of the learned Standing Counsel, this Court directs the respondent to pay the eligible and admissible amount with interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of terminal benefits, from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the terminal benefits of the petitioner, within a period of nine weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
