O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus, to direct the respondents to pay difference in leave salary and difference in gratuity with 10% interest as per 14th wage settlement dated 24.08.2022 to the petitioner.

2. Ms.S.Pavithra, learned Standing counsel takes notice for the Respondents.

3. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

4.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner who was working as Conductor and retired from service on 09.06.1989. It is the grievance of the petitioner that his representation made before the respondents dated 26.08.2025 seeking to pay the difference in gratuity and leave salary based on wage settlement dated 24.08.2022 with 10% interest has not been considered till date. Hence the present writ petition is filed.

5. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondents would fairly admit that in view of the similar orders passed by this Court in W.P. Nos. 40031, 33742 and 35806 of 2024, they are willing to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of the eligible and admissible amount.

6. In view of the above submission of the learned Standing Counsels, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent to pay

the eligible and admissible amount with interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of terminal benefits, from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the terminal benefits of the petitioners, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
