Prayer:- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to issue separate Grama Natham Patta for SF.No.269/2 in Thirumulaivoyal village, Avadi Taluk, Tiruvallur District, based on the Settlement deed in Doc No.7799 /2014 dated 09/06/2014, by considering my representation dated 25/07/2016 and 28/08/2019.

This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner to issue separate Patta in respect of the land comprised in SF.No.269/2, Thirumulaivoyal Village, Avadi Taluk, Tiruvallur District which is classified as Grama Natham.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. According to the petitioner, the subject land is classified as a Grama Nathan land. Though the petitioner purchased the property by way of a sale deed, it is classified as Grama Natham, and if the petitioner had constructed any house on it, he would be entitled to patta. However, even according to the petitioner, the land is being used only as a cattle shed. Therefore, when the land is classified as Grama Natham and is not being used for residential purposes, the representation submitted by the petitioner to issue patta in respect of the said land cannot be considered. 2/4

4. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs. No costs.
