Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents 1 to 4 to issue patta to the petitioner's huts in their occupation in S.No.53, New Survey Nos.59/5 and 59/6, Re-S.No.416/1, Natham land, Kurinjipadi Village and Taluk, Cuddalore District in the same manner as had been issued to 17 families residing in the same survey numbers and also in survey No.77/2 ward No.14 Bharathi Nagar, Kurinjipadi Village and Taluk, as per the proceedings of the 2nd respondent dated 5.8.1999 in Na.Ka. E2/51381/1999 and the proceedings of the 3rd respondent under reference No. Na.Ka.E10/2836/1999.

This writ petition has been filed for direction to Respondents 1 to 4 to issue patta to the petitioners' huts in their occupation in S.No.53, New Survey Nos.59/5 and 59/6, Re-S.No.416/1, Natham land, Kurinjipadi Village and Taluk, Cuddalore District in the same manner as had been issued to 17 families residing in the same survey numbers and also in survey No.77/2 ward No.14 Bharathi Nagar, Kurinjipadi Village and Taluk, as per the proceedings of the 2nd respondent dated 5.8.1999 in Na.Ka. Without expressing any opinion on merits of the writ petition, the fourth respondent is directed to conduct enquiry on the petitioners' representations and, after issuance of notice to the petitioners and counter parties, if there are, including the fifth respondent, and giving them opportunity of personal hearing, to pass orders on merits and in 3/6
accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of this order.

With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. It is made clear that the above direction issued by this Court does not mean that the fourth respondent shall issue patta to the petitioners. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
