ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.08.2025 and to issue legal heirship certificate based upon his application, dated 13.06.2025 in TN7202506131720, within a time frame stipulated by this Court.
2. Mrs.S.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. In view of the consent expressed by the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that on 10.07.2019, his father died at Oom, Iran. Thereafter, the Indian Embassy at Tehran had issued an Page No.2 of 6
official death certificate on 20.03.2022 confirming the demise of his father. Subsequently, his mother also passed away on 10.11.2022 at Government Hospital, Royapettah, Chennai leaving behind the petitioner and his two brothers as surviving legal heirs. Thereafter, he made an application for issuance of legal heir certificate in respect of his father on 13.06.2025, however, the same was not considered by the 2nd respondent. Hence, the petitioner has made a representation dated 14.08.2025 before the respondents. Since the same was not considered, the petitioner has filed this writ petition before this Court for appropriate orders.

Though very many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation, dated 14.08.2025 and issue legal heir certificate to the petitioner based on his application, dated 13.06.2025, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.
5. In view of the limited request sought for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion Page No.3 of 6
on the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.08.2025, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner and aggrieved persons, if any.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
