ORDER
Mr.M. Bindran, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the 1st respondent and Mr.P. Gurunathan, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the 2nd respondent. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The relief sought in this writ petition is a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.06.2025.

The case of the petitioner is that his grandfather donated 60 cents of land in the year 1992 to the 2nd respondent Panchayat Union on the assurance that one of his family members will be provided an employment in Government Service. After the demise of his grandfather, he approached the respondents by way of a representation dated 13.06.2025, seeking employment for his son Raman, who completed B.Sc. (Cardiac Technology) in a suitable post viz., Cath Lab Technician or Echo Technician in Government Hospitals. It is the grievance of the petitioner that despite the said representation, the respondents have not provided such employment, till date. Aggrieved by the inaction on the 2/5
part of the respondents, the petitioner has approached this Court with the present writ petition.

Reiterating the averments mentioned in the affidavit, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that based on the assurance given by the 2nd respondent, the petitioner's grandfather had executed a Gift Deed. In view of the above, he prayed before this Court that appropriate directions may be issued to the 1st respondent to consider the aforesaid representation of the petitioner, in accordance with law, within a time frame.

Per contra, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the 1st respondent would submit that the donation of land was made several decades ago and that the alleged assurance, would not, in any way be claimed as a right to seek public employment. Further, he submitted that the petitioner is seeking employment in the Health Department, whereas, the donation of land was given by the petitioner's grandfather to the Panchayat Union. In view of the above, the relief sought is unsustainable.
6. Though it is submitted that based on the oral assurance given by the 2nd respondent that employment will be provided to any one of his family members, certain extent of land was donated by the petitioner's grandfather, this Court is 3/5
of the considered view that the same cannot be claimed as a matter of right on the part of the petitioner, that too after several decades. As rightly contended by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the 1st respondent, this Court, at this stage, cannot issue any positive direction as regards providing employment to the petitioner's son.
7. Accordingly, the writ petition stands closed. However, liberty is granted to petitioner to work out his remedy before the appropriate forum in the manner to known to law. No costs.
