ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu.W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025. 2.

The case was registered in Cr.No.46 of 2019 dated 19.02.2019 for the offence under section 4(1)(a) and 14A of TN Prohibition Act. The allegation in this case is that on 19.02.2019, the accused was found to be in possession of 180ml of 67 bottles and another 180 ml of 43 bottles of liquor. There is no previous or subsequent case against the accused. Considering the factual matrix and context, any further continuance of the proceedings will impinge upon the accused's right to a speedy trial. No useful purpose will be served by keeping the matter pending.

Accordingly, the proceedings in STC.351/2024 on the file of the District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate Court, Neyveli Taluk, Cuddalore is quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case is disposed of. 15.10.2025 electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
