O R D E R

The petition has been filed for direction, directing the 3rd respondent to defreeze the petitioner's account and permitted him to operate the same.

2. Mr.K.M.D.Muhilan, Learned Govt.Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondents 1 & 2 submits that the petitioner involved in the prohibition case under Crime No.248/2024 alleging that he was possession of 15 bottles of illicit arrack of Pondicherry liquor.

3. The Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that no liquor bottles have been deposited before the concerned court and no vehicle has been seized so far. Instead, only the petitioner's account has been frozen at the request of the 1st respondent. Furthermore, a sum of Rs.150/- is lying in the petitioner's account and thus, there is no purpose in freezing. 2/4

4. In view of the above and pursuant to the registration of F.I.R, 1st respondent requested the 3rd respondent to freeze the account of the petitioner.

5. Hence, the 3rd respondent/The Branch Manager, Indian Bank, Senthanadu Branch, Ulundurpet Taluk, Kallakurichi District is directed to defreeze the account of the petitioner and permit him to operate the A/c.6147111789.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed. No costs.
