ORDER
The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 13.09.2025, for the offences punishable under Section 4(1)(a) and Section 4(1-A) of TN Prohibition Act in Crime No.296 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

The case of the prosecution is that while the police party were conducting surveillance near Saragam, Maramangalakkattupatti Nadar Street, they found that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 10 bottles of Monitor Branch (each containing 150 ml) and two other Monitor brandy bottles (each containing 180 ml). Hence, this case. 3.
The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this cases and she is in judicial custody since 13.09.2025. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court and sought for bail to the petitioner.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent while opposing the bail to the petitioner, reiterated the 2/4
prosecution case and states that the petitioner has more than five previous cases of similar nature; and that the investigation is pending. 5.
Considering the facts, gravity of offence, the previous antecedents of the petitioner and the fact that the investigation is pending, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 6.
Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands dismissed. 10.10.2025 stn To
