ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking to direct the 2nd respondent to promote the petitioner as an Assistant Draftsman with effect from 24.03.2008, by considering the qualification possessed by her on the date of regularisation of service and also by considering her representation dated 30.07.2025.
2. Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the 1st respondent, Mr.D.B.R.Prabhu, learned Standing Counsel takes notice on behalf of the 2nd respondent. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel on either side, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that, she was initially appointment as a Technical Assistant Grade-III in the year 1996 on temporary basis and 2/6
subsequently, her service was regularised by the 1st respondent with effect from 24.03.2008 and the petitioner is currently working as an Assistant Draftsman in RDC South Unit, Adyar. It is pertinent to note that, for appointment to the post of Assistant Draftsman in the Greater Chennai Corporation (in short 'GCC'), the prescribed qualification is ITI pass. Even though, the petitioner possess the required qualification even at the time of entering into service, the same was not considered by the respondents. Thereby, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 30.07.2025 before the respondents, seeking to consider her service in the post of Assistant Draftsman from the year 2008 onwards. However, as the same evoked no response, the petitioner has come up with this writ petition.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.07.2025 and consequently, promote the petitioner as an Assistant Draftsman with effect from 24.03.2008, by considering the qualification possessed by her on the date of regularisation of service.

5. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the 2nd respondent submits that appropriate orders will be passed on the petitioner's representation dated 30.07.2025 within the time stipulated by this Court.

Considering the limited prayer sought by the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.07.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and aggrieved persons, if any.
7. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
