ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025. 2.This case in Cr.No.963 of 2020 was registered for the alleged offences under Sections 289 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, 5 of TN TOWN NUISANCE ACT 1889, Section 11(1)(h) and 11(1)(i) of PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS ACT. 1960. It is reported that the accused was not properly maintaining the horse which he was riding and committed cruelty. For the said allegation, the case is pending from 2020. 3.Considering the nature of allegation, the antecedents of the accused, it would impinge upon his right to a speedy trial. shl 4.Accordingly, the case in STC.505/2020 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court, Udhagamandalam Taluk, Nilgiris stands quashed. This Suo Motu Transfer Case is disposed of.

The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary.
