O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner, who was arrested on 21.09.2025, seeking bail in Crime No.235 of 2025, registered for the offences under Sections 4(1)(C) & 4(1)(A) of TNP Act. Page No.1 of 6

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in possession of 35 bottles of liquor without any valid licence. Hence the case. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and she has been falsely implicated in this case. He also submitted that the petitioner is in Judicial Custody from 21.09.2025 and she is ready to abide by any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. In response, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) opposed the petition on the ground that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of liquor bottles. He further submitted that the petitioner has seven previous cases of a similar nature, out of which four cases have already been disposed of and three cases are still pending against her.

5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

6. Taking into consideration, the fact that the petitioner is in Judicial Page No.2 of 6

Custody from 21.09.2025 and substantial part of the investigation have been over by this time, this Court is inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, the petitioner is ordered to be released on bail on his executing a bond for a sum of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand only) with two sureties, for a like sum to the satisfaction of the learned V Metropolitan Magistrate at Egmore and on further conditions that: [a] the sureties shall affix their photographs and Left Thumb Impression in the Application for Surety ship [Judicial Form No.46 annexed to 'The Criminal Rules of Practice, 2019']. The learned Magistrate shall obtain a copy of any one of the identity proofs to ensure their identity;

[b] the petitioner shall report before the respondent police daily at 10.30 a.m., for a period of three weeks and thereafter as and when required for interrogation;

[c] On breach of any of the aforementioned conditions, the learned Magistrate/Trial Court is entitled to pass appropriate orders against the petitioner in accordance with law as if the aforementioned conditions have been imposed and the petitioner released on bail by Page No.3 of 6

the learned Magistrate/Trial Court himself as laid down by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in P.K.Shaji vs. State of Kerala [(2005)13 SCC 283];

[d] If the accused thereafter absconds, a fresh FIR can be registered under Section 269 of B.N.S. 13.10.2025 nvi Note :
