The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a direction upon the respondents 1 to 10 to take appropriate action to sealing and stopping the illegal sand quarry run by the 12th respondent and register a criminal case against 12th respondent based on the representation dated 21.04.2025.
2. Since no adverse order is being passed against the respondents 11 and 12, notice to the respondents 11 and 12 is dispensed with.
3. Mr.Stalin Abhimanyu, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 4, 6 to 9 and Mr.S.Balaji, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 5 and 10. In view of the consent expressed by the parties, this Page No.3 of 8
writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
4. The case of the petitioner is that the 12th respondent-company has been involved in the illegal sand mining in the water body of Thamaraikuppam Village, Uthukottai Taluk, Tiruvallur District for construction of road project sanctioned by TNRIC on 10.08.2021. The said respondent has been mining sand illegally beyond the government permitted level, which has caused huge financial loss to the government and great nuisance to the public. Therefore, the petitioner has a representation dated 21.04.2025 before the 4th respondent. Since the same was not considered, the petitioner has filed this writ petition before this Court for appropriate orders.
5. Though very many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the respondents 1 to 10 to take appropriate action to sealing and stopping the illegal sand quarry run by the 12th respondent and register a criminal case against the 12th respondent, based on the petitioner's representation dated 21.04.2025, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court. 7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
