Veerasekaran for TNHB COMMON ORDER Since the issue involved in both these writ petitions is one and the same, these writ petitions are disposed of by way of a common order.
2. The case of the petitioners in brief are as under :- Petitioners claim that they are the absolute owners and in possession and enjoyment of the properties situated at Block No.12 in Survey Nos. 233, 244/1, and 245/1A1B in T.S. No.2/20, measuring an extent of 3000 sq. ft., and in T.S. 2/5
No.2/21, measuring an extent of 4200 sq. ft., at Tambaram Village, respectively. In the year 1986, the respondents had acquired the said lands for implementation of a proposed scheme. However, the said lands were not utilised for the stated purpose and consequently, the project was dropped. Pursuant to which, the petitioners, who are in possession of the respective lands intend to develop the same into house sites. In this regard, the petitioners submitted representations, both dated 03.09.2025 to the respondents seeking issuance of No Objection Certificates. However, till date, the same have not been considered by the respondents. Hence, these writ petitions have been filed.
3. Mr. V. Sukumar, learned counsel for the petitioners, submitted that it would suffice if a direction is issued by this Court to the respondents to consider the petitioners' representations dated 03.09.2025, on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame.
4. Mr. D. Veerasekaran, learned Standing Counsel for the Tamil Nadu Housing Board, who takes notice for the respondents, has no serious objection to the said request.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the petitioners representations dated 03.09.2025 seeking for issuance of "No Objection Certificate" and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioners, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case.
6. These writ petitions are disposed of with the aforesaid directions. No costs.
