Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to Remove the high-voltage electricity line installed on Petitioner Patta land situated at Kancheepuram District, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Adhanur Village, Old Survey No. 307/3, New Survey No. 307/5, Approval No. LP/DTCP.No.1522/92, Srinivasa Nagar, Plot No. 1, measuring 2419 square feet, thereby passing orders of Petitioner representation dated 13.06.2025, 26.07.2025 and 06.08.2025 within a time frame.

ORDER

Mr. L. Jai Venkatesh, learned Standing Counsel, takes notice for respondents. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that a high-voltage electricity line has been installed through the centre portion of his patta land without any prior notice or consent. Aggrieved over the same, he lodged a complaint before the respondents. In response, the 5th respondent, informed him to remit a sum of Rs.2,145/- towards the charges for removal of the said high-voltage electricity line. In such circumstances, he submitted several representations, lastly on 2/5

06.08.2025 to the respondents including one through the Chief Minister's Special Cell. However, till date, neither any action has been taken by the respondents to remove the electricity line, nor any orders have been passed in the above regard. Hence, this writ petition.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that since the high-voltage electricity line had been installed without any prior intimation or notice to the petitioner, the respondents cannot insist upon any payment for the removal of the said line. Hence, this Court may be issue appropriate directions in this regard, within a short time frame.

4. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's representations would be considered by the 5th respondent and appropriate orders would be passed in accordance with law within a reasonable time frame.

5. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 5th 3/5

respondent to consider the petitioner's representations lastly dated 06.08.2025 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
